New Favorite Thing: Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer + Volumizer

Consider me officially obsessed. I’d seen the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer + Volumizer floating around my instagram feed but I was a bit hesitant at first. I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s and am familiar with a few of the old brush-dryer combos. The vintage versions could tangle your hair into a mess of a rat’s nest if they didn’t burn it off completely. In a bit of a styling rut, I threw caution to the wind and brought one home. It’s a total game-changer. I’m no pro at styling my hair and I’m still working on the technique, but it makes a huge difference in volume and (even better) has cut down in the amount of time I spend getting ready. I can’t recommend this enough and have already convinced many a friend it as well.

A few tips for using this tool:

  • Don’t start with super wet hair. Let your hair air dry for a spell or hit it for a minute or two with a regular hairdryer first to prevent tugging and breakage
  • The high setting gets pretty hot. Be sure to apply a good thermal protector before using (I love these from Ouai and Living Proof). If it gets too hot for you, try the “cool” setting. It is warmer than the average hair dryer “cool shot” and has higher power than the medium setting.
  • If you travel, I suggest purchasing a protective case like the one I found on Amazon. You can toss it into your bag without worrying about damaging fabrics or melting makeup.
